love letters

A very happy Monday to everyone. You can quickly see what has been holding my interest this weekend. I have used up page after page of my sketchbook, practising with my new calligraphy nibs and have been enjoying myself hugely. My favourite nib isn't one of the fancypants italic ones with a brass ink feeder but a little mapping tool called a Hunt Imperial 101. I do also kind of like that it sounds a bit like a piece of military hardware from the Death Star.

My other weekend buy was a corner cutting punch. FUN has been had...

I dug out these ceramic tiles that I made about ten years ago when I did a part-time course to relaunch myself into the world of art and making. As you can see, I was obsessed with letters and symbols back then, too...

I can see you are having a lovely time with your Hunt Imperial! "Sit straight woman, don't slouch!! " (It sounds so terribly military!!)

I remember you doing those tiles! I used to love experimenting with glazes, but that was a good more than 10 years ago!!

Enjoy your calligraphy - it can be immense fun!

lovely curly writing...I have aspired to have art teacher writing...if the kids put me in that catergory I am always delighted ..I have been trying very very hard all my life...I love pens which write nicely...I use a very very large rotring or a very very fine ink pen...

What beautiful images! I am jealous as I am never able to make much of fancy pens and I SO want to!

It's so neat, too, to dig out old projects and find common themes. I really love this entry.

Your writing is very beautiful and I can understand your fascination with typo, so many art forms within the world of letters. You have really inspired me, thank you!

I think you are very clever. That writing is lovely and much more talent than tool!
I enjoyed the film by the way. really uplifting.
