use it up, wear it out

Chilly weather precipitates need for hat. Credit crunch pixie suggests browse through yarn stash. Cold damp afternoon provides desire to stay in and sit on sofa. Pixie reminds about hat project. Internet search provides pattern. Four hours later, hat is finished! Instantly, hat is dearly loved. Later, sulking occurs when hat must be taken off for bed...

Oooh, I don't know...one of the nice things about being grown up is that you can do things you wouldn't have been allowed to do when you were little, including wearing nice hats to bed! (My scraggy old-but-warm beanie has been welded to my head all winter, in AND out of bed).

You are clever and the hat suits you so well. :)

Reader suggests making second hat, to wear in bed. Then making third and forth hat, to sell in internet...

That hat is fantastic, and looks grand on you. Isn't it amazing what can happen when imagination, and a little yarn, and a little time and energy are combined.

Bravo.

The flowers are also very pretty.

Oh Yes, do like hat. Sadly I would not look elegant and wistful as you do in your picture. I suspect I would bear a passing resemblance to a mushroom.
