the evolution of fish

Today a strange hedgehog-fish creature has been going round and round in my washing machine, testing to see how various felted wools bond together and what sort of shapes can be achieved. In the grand Darwinian scheme of things my little hogfish is still rather unevolved, but while he was spinning I was making sketches, and so tomorrow he may take a step forwards... we shall see.

These delightful handcoloured engravings are from a rather strange and wonderful nature book that we have at work. I thought you might like to see.

Sue, I am looking forward to seeing the next step in your fish evolution.

The drawings in your sketchbook are fine!

Those colored engravings are wonderful. Around when were they made? I like the second picture with its two views of the fish head.

Well, that sounds like part of an interesting day. Or do I mean an interesting part of a day??

Are we going to see some results of your experiments in the future?

You'll never believe me when I say I am planning some fish brooches, well maybe you will. Their shapes and spots and stripes with their enigmatic expressions are so fascinating.
The book is lovely. It must be a great thing to work surrounded by books like that.
I await your next step with interest.

Sounds like something from Alice in Wonderland! As Peter Kaye would say " Are you on glue?" xxxxx

I love the crazy world of blogs. Where else could you read "Today a strange hedgehog-fish creature has been going round and round in my washing machine, testing to see how various felted wools bond together," and it all makes perfect sense!

Your fish look like they would make a great textile design. I am sure if I worked in your workplace I would do very little work! I would be so distracted by those illustrations.

Oh those are exquisite, both yours and the ones in the nature book. How funny that Jackie is planning some fish designs. There are some crows across in Europe and some in the UK that mastered a skill at the same time. Collective consciousness?
